「山ちゃんを囲む会」は約480名の大盛況でした。staff（スタッフ）２８名の席はなし。つまり5１0名定員ほぼ満杯の盛会でした。
We thank you for that. = We are grateful to you for that. 大感謝！
大忙しの schedule (スケジュール）の合間を縫ってご出席及びいろいろご支援くださったR高校教職員の皆様がた、本当にありがとうございました。

就職して税金を払っているのに、日本国籍でないからといって、地方自治体の選挙権を与えられないのは、おかしくないだろうか。
Isn't it strange that you don't have the right to vote for your
local government just because you are not a Japanese when you have already
got a job and is paying taxes?
反語である。「おかしくないだろうか、いや、おかしい。」
