Many parents worry if their children are left-handed
and wonder if they should correct this condition.But there is no need
to do so. About four percent of the population is left-handed and many
great geniuses have been left-handed, including Leonardo da Vinci and
Michelangelo.
In our society things such as locks and cars are made for right-handed
people but this is not a big problem for those who are left-handed.
The reason for most people being right-handed and just a few left-handed
is not clear, but it is probably due to the difference between the right
and left halves of the brain.The right half of the brain controls the
left half of the body and the left half of the brain controls the right
half of the body.But the left half of the brain has power over the right
half of the brain, so the right half of the body is better able to do
things, making most of us right-handed.But in left-handed people the right
half of the brain is more powerful.
