"Continued;「無能が無能を呼ぶ」（TA）」” ０．森善朗首相は10日朝から横浜市のゴルフ場で知人とゴルフ。午前10時半過ぎに「事故発生」の一報がいったが、９ホールが終わるまでゴルフを続け、２時間後の午後0時54分、ゴルフ場を出発した。 東京都世田谷区の私邸にいったん帰宅、事故発生から５時間あまりすぎた午後2時12分、首相官邸に到着した。 １．Prime minister Yoshiro MORI had been playing golf with his friends in Yokohama since morning on Feb.10 when the first piece of the news arrived. MORI, however, continued playing till he reached as far as the ninth hole and left the golf course at 12:54 p.m., when full two hours had been wasted. Mori stopped by at his house and it was after 5 hours when he at last arrived at Prime Minister's Official Residence at 2:12. (Translated by TA) ２．Yomiuri Shimbun: Students and crew（乗組員）aboard the Japanese fishing training boat, which collided with a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine off the coast of Oahu on Friday, felt a sudden jolt （突然の揺れ）beneath the boat（船底に）, heard the captain order the life rafts to be lowered（船長が救命いかだを下ろすよう命じたのを耳にした）, and jumped into the water from the boat. In international telephone interviews with The Yomiuri Shimbun, they described their experiences during less than 10 minutes between the accisent and the boat sinking. ３. The Ehime Maru, a fishing training boat with 35 people on board, left a Honolulu port at about noon Friday. The sky was cloudy and the sea was moderately choppy (＝the waves were 「適度に」high). The students and crew took turns eating lunch（交代で食事を摂った）aboard the boat, after they finished coiling the mooring ropes(係留ロープを巻き終えてから）. The boat was then about 18 kilometers off Honolulu, sailing in the direction of a fishing ground （漁場に向け航行中であった）. ４．Shuji YANAGIHARA, 48, a crew member who was eating his lunch with three other crew in the ship's dining room, thought the boat had run aground(座礁した).... YANAGIHARA ran up a ladder（梯子＝はしごを駆け上がった）to a deck, where he heard someone yell（誰かが怒鳴るのを耳にした）that the boat hit a submarine（（自分達の）船が潜水艦に当たった）, and Captain Hisao ONISHI shout, "Put out the life raft(救命いかだを下ろせ). Everyone abandan ship.(退船せよ)” YANAGIHARA joined the crew of the Ehime Maru eight years ago. Since then, he has made the trip to the sea off Honolulu on average of three times a year. ５．Yoshihiro YAMAMOTO, 55, an engineer who was on a break(休憩中) in his cabin（自分の船室で）, said his books fell off their shelves（何冊もの本が本棚から落ちた）as the cabin shook as if an earthquake struck the ship. Within a few minutes, water was sloshing(水が足元までピチャピチャと迫り) about his feet. No announcement was made, apparently because the electricity had failed（明らかに停電のせいで）. His cabin was in complete darkness. ”I have seen a nuclear submarine a few times," he said. "But we have no way of noticing submarines（潜水艦に気づく方法は無い）because they travel under water.
